Privacy Policy

1. Information We Collect

When you use Niche Finder, we collect: the email address you provide; your answers to the assessment questions; and, if you create an account, your login credentials. If you leave a review, we collect the review text, star rating, and name you provide.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use your email to save and, if requested, send you your results. We use your assessment answers to generate your personality scores and niche recommendations. We do not sell your personal information to third parties.

3. Results Links Are Shareable — Please Read This Section

Each completed assessment has a unique results page accessible via a private link (/results/[id]). Anyone who has this link can view the free-tier summary of that assessment's results — this includes your personality trait scores, talent affirmation, and top recommended niche. This is an intentional design choice, not an oversight: it's what allows you to share your results with a friend, on social media, or anywhere else, without needing them to create an account.

This is the same model used by many link-based sharing features (for example, a shared Google Doc or Notion page): possession of the link is treated as authorization to view. Because of this:

  • Treat your results link the same way you'd treat any other link you don't want strangers to have — don't post it somewhere fully public if you'd rather keep your results private.
  • Your full paid report (if you've unlocked one) is not exposed this way — only the free-tier summary is visible via the link to someone who hasn't unlocked or doesn't own the assessment. Full unlocked content requires either being logged into the account that purchased it, or the guest email originally used for that assessment.
  • Your email address and raw question-by-question answers are never included in what's visible via a shared link, regardless of payment status.

If you'd prefer your results not be viewable by anyone with the link, do not share it, and consider creating an account (see Section 4) rather than using the guest flow.

4. Accounts

Creating an account lets you save and revisit all of your assessment history in one place at /my-results, which is only accessible to you when logged in — this is not shareable via link the way individual results pages are.

5. Data Retention

We retain your assessment data for as long as your account (or the underlying record, for guest assessments) exists, so you can revisit your results. [Add specifics here once retention policy is decided — e.g., how long guest assessment data is kept if never claimed by an account.]

6. Third-Party Services

We use Stripe to process payments; we do not store your payment card details ourselves. We use [email provider] to send results emails. We use HeyCatch to collect usage analytics — page views, clicks, and completion events — to understand how the assessment is used. Signed-in users are identified to HeyCatch by account email (and name) so activity can be linked across sessions; HeyCatch never receives your assessment answers, personality scores, or niche results. Each of these providers has its own privacy practices governing the data they process on our behalf.

7. Your Choices

You can request deletion of your assessment data or account by contacting [contact email/method]. If you're logged in, you can view all your saved results at /my-results.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Continued use of the Service after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
